Easy to install and great quality printing.

I really like the print quality of this printer. I was looking for a new printer that was wireless, could copy, scan and have individual ink cartridges. This Brother MFC-J480DW printer fit the bill. It can also print on both sides without turning over and reinserting the paper (cool).

I gave it one start only because the form won't let me give it zero stars.
It's pathetically slow, and the paper feed just loves to jam. I have used many printers to endorse checks, among other things. There is no way to make this thing print an endorsement on a personal check.
In addition, just convincing it to print on a larger check took quite a bit of effort. It "helps" by screaming at you and failing to print if the size of the paper isn't right, in its twisted little mind.
I am seriously considering throwing it away, even though I've only owned it for a few months.

It does the job, but ink is expensive and we fly through it. And there are some odd quirks - like having to tell the printer you haven't changed the paper size every time you refill the tray.
